Candy Garren
Pianist
Candy serves as our church pianist. In this role, she provides music for worship services, special services, and funerals. She also supports our choir by providing music and expertise during rehearsals. Candy has four years of music training and has served as a church pianist for over 60 years. She absolutely believes that her musical talent is a gift from God and she works diligently to use it in service to Him.
Candy was 10 years old when she asked Jesus into her heart to be her Lord and Savior. She was baptized as part of the Church when she was 10 and recommitted to that decision as an adult. Candy’s parents were faithful members of Forestville for many years before they entered the gates of Heaven. Candy serves with the same spirit of love, gentleness and selflessness that they instilled into her as a young person. In addition to being on staff, Candy volunteers in our Children’s Ministry on Wednesday nights and she is beloved by all of “her” kids!
Candy’s favorite scripture comes from Romans 8:1. “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” She lives out this Word in her daily life as she loves everyone she encounters and has an incredibly welcoming spirit! Candy is the widow of her beloved husband, Tommy. She is certain they will be reunited one day! Candy has two biological children, two step children, and two adopted children. She is blessed to be Nana to 11 grandchildren and two great nephews. Candy stays incredibly busy with crocheting, painting, gardening and cooking! She makes the BEST chocolate cake in the world!
