Ashley Durham
Praise and Worship Leader
Ashley currently serves as the Praise and Worship leader at Forestville. She works alongside our Interim Music Director to create a blended Sunday morning service. Ashley believes that her responsibility is to become less so that Jesus Christ can become more. Her heart’s desire is to be a vessel in expressing praise and adoration to Him and for Him. She knows that when all of this is done, when hearts are humble before Him, His people are ready to receive, and be changed by, the focal point of the worship service—His glorious and living Word.
Ashley grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. She is a walking testimony that sometimes salvation and God’s plan for us is a marathon and not a sprint. She was saved at 27 years old, not long after she and her husband suffered a miscarriage. Ashley understands that there is no age minimum or maximum on when God will save you; His timing is perfect. Life is about embracing Jesus Christ and trusting in His grace for forgiveness and eternal life.
Ashley’s love for music began at a young age. She participated in dance, choir and theatre all throughout her formative years and she majored in musical theatre in college. Ashley’s heart for leading worship is something that God ordained in 2022 when she answered Forestville’s need for a praise and worship leader. Ashley enjoys getting to have a personal interaction with Jesus through song while being a vessel for someone to have that same experience. She feels as if helping lead the congregation in worship each week is a glimpse of what Heaven will be like! Ashley is always aware of how unbelievably blessed she is to use the gift God has given her to glorify Him.
Ashley’s favorite scripture can be found in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.” Ashley is blessed to be the wife of Adam. They are parents to a beautiful daughter, Easton Rae, and a precious son, Thatcher Gray.
