Larry Seay
Interim Music Director
Larry currently serves as the Interim Music Director at Forestville. He works alongside our praise team leader to create a blended Sunday morning service that offers hymns, contemporary worship and choir music. Larry is also responsible for leading the choir at Forestville. Larry enjoys seeing the excitement of our church and choir as we worship together through music. Larry also receives great blessings from pouring in to the next generation of church leaders that God is preparing.
Larry was blessed to be a pastor’s kid with parents who loved God with all of their hearts. Larry’s dad served as a pastor at Forestville for many years and Larry grew up in our church! Larry was saved at an early age but strayed from God. He is blessed to describe God’s consistent love for him and how, after years of pursuit, our Lord welcomed him home with arms wide open! Larry’s story is an example of mercy, redemption and God’s unending love for His children. Larry is especially thankful for the numerous opportunities God has provided for him to serve, most recently at Forestville.
Larry attended Appalachian State University and earned a degree in business. Larry also completed three years of music school, where he took formal piano and voice lessons. In addition to having a successful career in business, Larry has over 20 years of experience in leading music at several Southern Baptist churches. Larry’s musical talent is God given and one of our members jokes that he could teach the pews to sing!
Larry’s heart is most touched by Romans 12:12: “Rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;” Larry grew up in Greenville and is married to his heaven-sent helpmate, Sharon. They have been blessed with six amazing grandchildren. Larry jokes that if he had known how wonderful grandchildren were, he would have had them first! In his spare time Larry enjoys traveling and spending time with close friends.
